In my experience, Philips was a brand name that used to be heard quite a lot. This is in the 80s and 90s. Gradually, this name came to be drowned out by other competitors. Not that Philips had disappeared, but there were names such as Sony, Panasonic, and JBL to give competition. Then, one started to hear more about Skullcandy, Samsung, Beats, and now so many other brands that one can barely keep up with the names. Bose has continued to be a pioneer in ANC technology, and also some of the most expensive headphones in this category. Just today, as I was doing some research about ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) headphones, the name Philips came up quite prominently. The headphones I was looking at, showed great reviews and a very attractive ongoing discount. I still took a look at the others but came back to check Philips, as it has been a brand that I have known over the years. It was nice to find their official online store via Amazon, as so many well-known brand
