PHILIPS ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) headphones

In my experience, Philips was a brand name that used to be heard quite a lot. This is in the 80s and 90s. Gradually, this name came to be drowned out by other competitors. Not that Philips had disappeared, but there were names such as Sony, Panasonic, and JBL to give competition. Then, one started to hear more about Skullcandy, Samsung, Beats, and now so many other brands that one can barely keep up with the names. Bose has continued to be a pioneer in ANC technology, and also some of the most expensive headphones in this category. Just today, as I was doing some research about ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) headphones, the name Philips came up quite prominently. The headphones I was looking at, showed great reviews and a very attractive ongoing discount. I still took a look at the others but came back to check Philips, as it has been a brand that I have known over the years.

It was nice to find their official online store via Amazon, as so many well-known brands do as well. This gave me a chance to look at their ANC headphones, and it seems that Philips continues to be a brand that commands respect and has the trust of many buyers. Yes, in the reviews, some buyers have expressed dissatisfaction with the after-sales service, and this is a good place to admit this. Whether these are new buyers of a younger generation or older ones who have known about Philips, I do not know. What interests me presently is that Philips has secured a space for itself in the market of ANC headphones.

The company gained its royal honorary title (hence the Koninklijke) in 1998 and dropped the "Electronics" in its name in 2013, due to its refocusing from consumer electronics to healthcare technology.

It will give you a good idea of why Philips became a globally recognized brand. That came about with specific innovations like light bulbs and portable audio equipment, as it tied the company with the needs of everyday consumers. This has continued to hold true.

I am not really sure that a modern-day buyer senses an attachment to the history of Philips, or even cares about this very much. Quite honestly, if one is in the market for ANC headphones, the most interesting aspects might just be the price and quality on offer. In the process of making a purchase, if you or someone else finds a nice balance of both, the history of the brand may not be of much significance. However, one cannot deny that Philips is one of those brands that brings with it a history. Even today, with a nostalgic sense and perhaps with a bit of confidence, as one holds a gadget made by Philips, there is a connection with its history one can find.
