What would you choose as your WiFi networking standard in 2024 - 6E or 7?

Ah, the age-old battle of "which Wi-Fi to choose?" Like picking the perfect song for a road trip, it's all about finding the rhythm that matches your needs. While Wi-Fi 6 is like that trusty classic rocking out on the radio, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 are the fresh beats pumping through your headphones, ready to blow your mind.

Out of the Blue, Jeff Golub

Jazz/Blues guitarist Jeff Golub formerly of the band Avenue Blue has released his first solo effort. Golub co-produced "Out of the Blue" with keyboardist/producer Philippe Saisee (David Sanborn, Al Jarreau, Luther Vandross fame). "Out of the Blue" is a combination of modern' instrumentals mixed with funky Latin-tinged rhythms.

Guitarist Jeff Golub's three previous CDs, released under the name Avenue Blue, have infused the smooth-jazz format with a much-needed shot of soul. Out of the Blue ups the ante a notch by injecting more rock elements. "Indiana Moon" could be an Eric Clapton track sans vocals. Clapton's occasional drummer, Steve Ferrone, adds to the illusion and (with Tony Levin, bass and stick) to the real rhythm section that separates Golub's work from the lifeless programming of some of his "happy jazz" companions. "Manteca" recalls a Santana samba--but throughout the tune, it's more Jimi Hendrix than either Eric or Carlos. "Wanna Funk?" and "Groanin'" offer ripping solos more pleasing to guitar fans than to "wave" programmers. Golub's said that he wants "to play like Al Green sings," and it's his touch that makes him distinctive. If Out of the Blue's smooth, modern ballad arrangements result in him sounding at times closer to Luther Vandross than to the earthier Green, that's still a fine voice to reach for. --Michael Ross

I am sure you would enjoy listening to a sample

Yesterday I wrote about my first experience listening to Jeff Golub's mastery at the guitar. The Vault was the album.  Of course, as mentioned in that post, it surely wasn't a first because of his long association with Rod Stewart.  However, in his solo work as an instrumental guitarist and recognizing his name, Jeff Golub, was a first for me.  I really enjoyed his art.

Now, today, I am listening to this album, and right from the outset, this is so much better than The Vault.  It is more organic, natural, and definitely richer.  Jeff is even better in his company with other good musicians.  Every single track in comparison is a superior listening experience.  He reminded me of Eric Clapton.  In every way he is comparable; in fact, more energetic and just as smooth; minus the vocals, of course.

This last Sunday of January, I'd like to recommend Jeff Golub again.  And, Out of the Blue is the album.  Track numbers 8 and 9 seemed to be special.  By that time, a mood has been set, and these tracks provide both, a deeper level and transition to the blues, thanks to the genius of Jeff.  This is surely a great album!  If you enjoyed listening to The Vault, this is far superior without a doubt.
